Author Demetra S. Gerontakis, the  youngest  of  the six children in her family was born in 1965, in Chicago, Illinois where she was  brought up a city girl. Originally from the island of Crete,  she  settled down in Greece where she resides until today.  She  established a hunger for writing at a very young age writing down her thoughts, poems, lyrics and fictional stories as a hobby. That hobby would eventually flourish into an obsession. After  raising  her four children she began writing her first piece of non fiction work  called  THE REALITY OF THE SUPERNATURAL  published in 2012 . Later, book one of  her paranormal fantasy novel SECRET OF THE CREST  was published  and soon after, two more books completed the trilogy.

As a Christian, she also writes inspirational short stories and prayer books.

Gerontakis has always been passionate about writing non fiction, and storytelling. She is an Author who loves exploring different themes and motifs. As part of her writing process she enjoys immersing herself into the research, production, and fine-tuning of the stories she feels are  worthy of telling.

Demetra lives is a mountainous area in Northwestern Greece and enjoys the natural beauty of the terrain which also inspires her writing.
